Automation

Robotics, PLC and HMI programming, AGVs and end-of-line cells - concept-modelled in 3D before a single frame is cut.
Automation

Robots, PLCs and AGVs, integrated by the people who maintain them.

Noreside is a systems integrator for robotic and PLC-controlled production, working across food and beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturing from initial system design through to on-site commissioning and operator training.

Because our own fabrication, pipework and electrical teams work alongside the automation engineers, one contractor is accountable from concept to sign-off.

  • FANUC robot systems integration
  • PLC and HMI programming
  • Vision systems and quality control
  • AGVs and driverless forklifts

What we build and programme.

Cells and lines designed around your throughput, your hygiene regime and the equipment you already run.

Systems integration

End-to-end integration of robots into new or existing lines, including tooling, conveyors and vision.

  • New builds and retrofits
  • Tooling and end effectors

Robot programming

On-site and remote programming for pick-and-place, palletising, welding and material handling.

  • FANUC controllers
  • Cycle time optimisation

PLC & HMI control

Control system design, programming and support across the platforms already installed on your site.

  • Siemens and Allen-Bradley
  • Mitsubishi and Omron

Vision & quality control

Vision systems that check products against specification and reject before the fault reaches the pallet.

  • Inspection and verification
  • Traceability data

AGVs & driverless forklifts

Self-navigating pallet transport between production, storage and dispatch, running around the shift pattern.

  • In-house integration capability
  • Obstacle detection and safety

Commissioning & training

Acceptance testing, commissioning and hands-on operator training on safe use, basic programming and routine checks.

  • FAT and site acceptance
  • Operator and maintenance training

A FANUC systems integrator based in Ireland.

We design, build and commission automation systems using FANUC robots - with on-site response from Kilkenny rather than international lead times.

  • System integrationFANUC robots integrated into new or existing lines, with tooling, conveyors and vision systems.
  • Robot programmingPick-and-place, palletising, welding and material handling, programmed on site or remotely.
  • Commissioning & supportFull commissioning, acceptance testing and ongoing maintenance to hold performance.
  • Operator trainingHands-on programmes covering safe operation, basic programming and routine maintenance.
  • Hygienic and ATEX environmentsTrack record integrating systems in wash-down hygienic areas and ATEX-rated zones.
  • One contractor, start to finishIn-house fabrication, pipework and electrical capability alongside the robot integration.

What automation changes.

60%
Typical saving on manual transport costs once AGVs take the repetitive routes
24/7
Pallet movement that holds the same pace on every shift
4
PLC platforms supported: Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron
Automated guided vehicles

Driverless forklifts for the routes nobody should have to drive.

AGV forklifts use intelligent navigation to move pallets safely across site, whether that is raw material into production or finished goods out to dispatch.

Sensors and safety systems detect and avoid obstacles while keeping movement smooth and predictable, which means fewer accidents, less product damage and the same productivity on every shift.

  • Obstacle detection and advanced safety systems
  • Repetitive transport removed from the team
  • Short payback on high-frequency routes
  • Minimal disruption during installation

Where we apply it.

Food & beverage

End-of-line palletising, case packing and inspection on high-throughput lines.

Pharmaceutical

Precision handling and robotic assembly in validated, documented environments.

Packaging & palletising

Robot cells that sequence, stack and wrap without a manual handling step.

Dairy & chemical

Hygienic and ATEX-rated environments where the cell has to suit the zone.

How an automation project runs.

  1. 01

    Concept & 3D design

Line data and cycle times in, concept cell modelled in 3D and reviewed before anything is ordered.

  2. 02

    Build & factory test

Cell built and proven in Kilkenny, with factory acceptance testing against the agreed cycle.

  3. 03

    Install & commission

Installed around your shutdown window, commissioned, safety-signed and documented.

  4. 04

    Train & optimise

Operator training, then performance optimisation and maintenance support once it is running.

Automation - common questions.

Which PLC platforms do you work with?

Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi and Omron. We work with the platform already installed rather than pushing a replacement.

Can you integrate with lines and robots we already have?

Yes. Retrofitting into existing lines is most of what we do, including cells and conveyors installed by other suppliers.

Do you train our operators?

Hands-on training covering safe operation, basic programming and routine maintenance is part of handover, and we can repeat it for new staff.

Can you work in hygienic or ATEX areas?

Yes. We have integrated systems in wash-down hygienic environments and in ATEX-rated zones, with the design and documentation those areas require.

What support is available after commissioning?

Remote diagnostics and on-site response for critical failures, plus preventative servicing under an SLA through our maintenance unit.

Thinking about robotics or an upgrade?

Tell us the line and the constraint and we will model whether automation is the answer before anyone quotes for it.
